The Kindle case does a pretty good job protecting the surface from drops and scrapes. Because of the thickness of the silicon/rubber, it is difficult to press several of the buttons and it is hard to read whether one is punching a new page, or going back, or the index. I had to cut out the little square over one of the buttons to use it. I suggest that the labels be printed on the surface, rather than merely a raised label which cannot be read in low light.

I love this cover for my Kindle 2. It makes the Kindle 2 easy to hold and protects the sides from fingerprints or scratches. I love the way it feels in my hands while reading. It gives you a good grip and makes it comfortable when holding my Kindle 2.

There are a number of choices when it comes to cases for Kindles. My mother “needed” one that resembled her old books. She is not in to high tech so the look of a book was necessary for her. She has an elegant black leather one which can be closed and secured with a band. I prefer just the soft rubbery feeling one as I don’t even have to open my “book” to begin reading. It comes in a variety of colors so choose one that differentiates it from other items you may own. There are any number of covers that are available now, and more appear each day. It a matter of personal appearance.

I purchased a silicon cover for my smartphone, because my phone was always slipping out of my hands. The cover worked great, no more slipping. When I first got my Kindle, I thought oh no, I can see the crash and burn already. So I did my research on silicon covers. Some had the cover that ran only down the back and sides and some had the cover that ran across the front above the keyboard as well, like this one. So I thought this one would be the better of the two designs, even though some posts said it was loose or sloppy.
I received my cover (I ordered the pink one) and when I first got it, it kind of felt slickery (somewhere between slick and slippery). I thought to myself this is never going to work, it’s just going to slide out of my hands. The cover did fit nice and tight on my Kindle though and it came with a lifetime warranty, which I didn’t know. Well I’ve given it 3 weeks and it’s great. With everyday use it has broken in and is no longer slickery, but slightly tacky. Just enough to prevent it from sliding down while I am reading or just carrying it. I love it, it did turn out to be just like my phone cover. So if you order this cover, just give it time, it is worth it in the long run.
