If you need a light for your kindle I recommend you buy the Great Point reading light. This light is perfect! It stays in place when clipped on, the neck can be adjusted in any position and it provides full coverage. I thought it was a bonus that it came with batteries installed as well as replacement batteries.

Please don’t waste your time and money with any other reading light. After purchasing 3 brands I was starting to get so frustrated I almost gave up! Either they slipped off my kindle or the light did not provide enough coverage. I spent so much time trying to make them work I was too tired/frustrated to read!

I never thought that I would be so happy about a book light, let alone write a recommendation for one! But what can I say….The Great Point reading light has further enhanced my kindle experience.

After years of using many different reading lights I finally found one that does everything you want. It lights up my Kindle DX perfect! The light is not too bright or too dim.

It grips great on the Kindle frame without touching the screen(I tried the Mighty Bright but the only way to secure it was to clip it on the screen. Yikes!)

It’s beautifully designed and very sturdy. The head also locks in the clip when your not using it.

The bonus was it came with batteries included AND an extra set of batteries.

I love it. I think I might buy the black one too.

    Enjoy.

I received this light along with the Kindle as a Birthday gift. The person who gave it to me did not know that I had the Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 already from reading at night when my husband can’t sleep. I have tried to use it for the past couple of days to give it a shot as maybe it would be better than my current book light. Potential shoppers please listen to a person who has REALLY tried every book light out there. This light is not very good. While it is better than a few I have tried, it is still so inferior to some others including the Mighty Bright light. This light only has only one level of lighting and though it was bright for the first 4 hours of using it, it started to get dimmer and dimmer the next few hours after. It did come with batteries but what will happen after the next 4 hours?? I would then have to look for button cell batteries. They are expensive. AAA batteries are less expensive and in my drawer or easy to find when traveling. The clip is easy to open but it is HUGE on the Kindle. Looks really bad.

I had my doubts after reading the negative reviews about other clip-on lights. But I have been so pleased with this accessory. It clips easily to the K-2, doesn’t slip or slide, but stays where you put it. The clip does not interfere with the screen at all. Aesthetically it matches the kindle. The flexible neck stays put and is easy to move without having to hold the clip. Once you find the best position for you, it stays put – even when I remove it from the Kindle.

The light coverage is superb over about 90% of the screen. The bottom 10-15% kind of fades off, but it has presented no reading issue. There may be a tiny bit of glare at the very top, but nothing is perfect.

The only complaint I have is the on/off switch is a bit flimsy. But I can easily read for hours without eyestrain in a dimly lit room or in bed at night.

I got this with my Kindle 2 as I prefer low light in the evenings and am prone to headaches. I have noticed no eyestrain and when reading in complete darkness this light is more than enough. The neck stays in place and it’s very easy to adjust when I change position. I’m able to limit the glare off the screen, as I have it clipped on to my cover, it just takes a minute to find the right angle. The 2 led lights don’t get hot and so far as the battery life has been great and I appreciated the replacements that are included. This is the first reading light I’ve tried and over the past few days have been very impressed. I have recommended it to my friends that also have Kindle’s and those that just like to read!

This case has exactly what I was looking for…a slim profile…easy to hold…folds back effortlessly for one-handed reading…no straps to deal with when actually reading your Kindle. The green color is brighter than this picture shows. It is an asparagus colored green..It looks nice sitting around in my home. It also stands out so that it is easy to find, as well as being the color of nature…my favorite aspect of this color!Between the hinge system and straps, the Kindle 2 is very secure! High quality, luxurious to the touch, felt cushioning in the interior. There is no contrast stitching on the outside. The stitching is Jade Green. No space for the Eluminator book light. I will use the Mighty Brite.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt like I must for this product. I bought this cover back in July when I got my Kindle. The connection points that attach the cover to the Kindle are easy to attach, but once they are in, I couldn’t see how to ever take the cover back off. That was no big deal, since I didn’t have a need to remove the cover. It looks nice and did the job.

Unfortunately, over the last month the top of the case of my Kindle has cracked over the spot where the top attachment point fits into the Kindle. Apparently the connector puts stress on the Kindle case from the inside, and over time this stress has caused the case of the Kindle to crack. Every time I use it the damage seems to increase. I don’t think I have done anything non-standard in attaching or using the cover, and it hasn’t been removed since I originally installed it, so it isn’t because of the stress of attaching and detaching the cover over and over.

I haven’t contacted Amazon about this yet, so I don’t know if they will do anything about it, but I wouldn’t recommend that anyone take a chance with this product.

I was happy with the cover when I received it. The color is beautiful (a little darker than the picture online, but the same basic tone), the leather is soft and comfortable to hold, and the quality is exceptional. There are two things that keep me from giving the review five stars.

First, I had a hard time getting the Kindle to click into the cover. I tried multiple ways of doing it and it ended up sitting in the cover crooked each time. This worried me because I didn’t want to hurt my Kindle. I wrote to M-Edge and they wrote back almost immediately with directions that included easy to follow photos. I don’t know what it is I was doing wrong, but in following the directions the Kindle slid right in and sits perfectly in the cover now.

The directions, provided by M-Edge, should anyone else need them, are:

” 1. Connect bottom of hinge to lower slot in on Kindle2. Rotate towards the spine.

    2. Slide top of hinge into the upper slot of the Kindle2.

    3. Gently push hinge up to lock Kindle 2 in place.

    4. If desired, pull elastic straps to secure corners of Kindle2.”

The second reason it’s not 5 stars is I think that for the current price a small band, buckle, piece of Velcro, or something could have been provided to secure the cover closed when not in use. I know that there are covers available at twice the price with a strap included but they also included other features I was not interested in.

Overall it’s a great product and well worth the price.

The item is just as described. A slim real leather cover with no straps except for the inside flap on the right side corners. The Kindle is locked in place snapping it into the little prongs. I love the color! I would describe it as a dark granny smith. It is the perfect accessory for my Kindle 2 and much more stylish then the black Amazon cover that costs exactly the same.

I knew the moment I recieved my Kindle I would need to get a cover to protect it. As with most of my purchases online, I do an exhaustive search of the products available. Initially, I was drawn to the more expensive covers that Amazon has to offer (Cole Haan and the like)…but there are few reviews for these cases outside of amazon, and I was reluctant to spend the money without handling the covers personally. I also found well reviewed covers from Kindle forums, but these were hand-cut leather with earthy, old-world designs (they were also rather pricey).

I decided on the M-Edge GO! Jacket for it’s combination of simple style, functionality and price.

This leather cover attaches to the Kindle very securely using the built in hinge and two elastic straps which hold down the upper and lower right corners. In the two months and 16 books I’ve read on it – not once has the mechanism disengaged; I feel confident that my Kindle is secure. The cover itself is a padded but smooth leather (exterior) folio. I chose the bright green and I was not disappointed with the shade! It is bright but not obnoxious. There is a sueded light gray interior. It provides some grip when using the cover folded back on itself. By the way, the spine does not show any wear-and-tear from this manuever and looks as good as when it came out of the box!

In short, I would recommend this product without hesitation. When/if I decide to spring for a Kindle DX, I will definitely look to this company to help protect my investment.
